Bellagio, a fatal disease of the nocturnal porter in the Hotel Metropole

The night porter of the Hotel Metropole in Bellagio was found dead at about 6 a.m. Saturday, May 28, in his hotel office.

Of Moroccan origin, but in Italy for life – now an Italian citizen, residing in Oliveto Lario – David Etarrabi was 55 years old and very well known throughout Bellagio, having spent several years working there, always in the hotel industry.

The first employees to enter service early found him lifeless on the ground. They tried to revive him by calling the emergency services at the same time, who could not do much more: while Operations Center 118 also activated the helicopter, an ambulance of rescue volunteers arrived at Piazza Mazzini. They could only confirm the death, probably dating a few hours earlier, during the night.

Bellagio Carabinieri informed the judiciary by obtaining the green light for the immediate return of the corpse from the duty prosecutor in the Public Prosecutor’s Office, again available for family members to attend the funeral.
