Do you remember KITT from the “Supercar” series? Not only does it really exist, it really “speaks” and it costs bullshit

This car will be remembered by many, even if it is just a fantasy. What if this is not the case? What will happen will definitely leave you speechless.

It’s the eighties. Specifically, 1982. The TV series “Supercar” was produced, with the great protagonist David Hasselhoff; But not only that, KITT also occupied the stage, at least until 1986. We are talking about the “talking” car that gave unique moments in the history of cinema. Although of course it is a futuristic broker as much as it is unrealistic. Or maybe not?

Supercar’s Kitt Really Is There and ‘Speaks Well’: Details (web source)

A new car takes us straight back to KITT, and this time it’s all real. We’re talking about ROBO-01, the daughter of JIDU, the startup Baidu that deals with smart electric cars that introduced Artificial intelligence robotic vehicle. This show was made on Baidu’s Metaverse platform, as shown in videos and photos of a vehicle that intrigued many people – and how it could have gone differently.

ROBO-01 the car that “talks”: all the details

From KITT to ROBO-01 the step is short. But not much, because we are talking about the real world and not about a TV series. So here is a concept car that will deliver futuristic design, innovative user experience, and industry-leading AI technology. Already from the photos circulating on the Internet, we can see that the car is available in three different exterior colors.

Although JIDU noted that each individual color path consists of five technical coatings and a coating that refracts natural light to provide greater color depth. To showcase the sophisticated aerodynamics, the company removed the door handles and added retractable robotic structures, such as the LIDAR sensors and a ROBOWing tail at the rear.

The interior features a retractable steering wheel powered by wire-steer technology, which can be folded away while in autonomous driving mode. According to what was revealed by the startup, the autonomous driving system uses two chips and is equipped with 31 external sensors, five millimeter wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars and 12 cameras.

However, the most interesting aspect of this car is definitely another; That is, its interactive artificial intelligence. The front design is already equipped with Pixel AI headlights that allow the car to communicate what you think in the form of illuminated language based on one’s perception of the environment. The AI voice interaction system also includes external speech recognition, which enables communication between the vehicle, humans and their surroundings.

But when will it first appear on the market? Apparently, JIDU plans to release a limited edition of the first model in the fall. A second production model is also expected at the Gyangzhou Auto Show in November. In any case, the actual entry into the scene is scheduled for 2023. Its cost will not even be high: 200,000 yuan, which equals 28,000 euros.
