We are now approaching, less than a month from June 30, 2022, when the point of sale will be mandatory for anyone working with the public, including freelancers such as doctors or lawyers. POS is an electronic device that allows us to pay by credit cards, debit cards, prepaid cards but also only over the phone through special applications.
For some time now, many people have given up on keeping cash or coins in their wallets, to use only cards, which are more convenient. Of course, without POS, these guys are in trouble, and the merchant may risk losing the sale. It is precisely for this reason that this law was passed that obliges anyone to obtain it. It is clear, however, that there are also other reasons behind this, for example the fight against tax evasion, which is increasingly prevalent. Many workers, trying to pay lower taxes, do not provide a receipt, so they do not advertise the sale. Obviously, this will not be possible with POS, as there must be an equivalent receipt for each payment. With the commitment, the first fines will start also for those who do not have it, but also for those who refuse to pay the customer in this way. The fine is 30 euros + 4% of the amount.
POS, ALWAYS DO THIS BEFORE PAYING: “ATTENTION”
A POS device, as we said earlier, is an electronic device, which is also why it can have problems. Therefore, when paying, you need to be very careful. Before paying or entering the PIN, first make sure that the amount is correct. In fact, the trader may mistype the amount and you may find yourself losing a smaller amount if you are lucky, but if you are not lucky, you will pay more than expected. So before you pay, pay close attention to this.
