Due to excessive energy dependence on Russia, the European Union does not have the strength to give up Vladimir Putin’s gas, but due to the indirect effect of Western sanctions, Russia’s Gazprom cannot obtain the necessary components to ensure its supply, and therefore is forced to cut them anyway. The result: Europe’s methane volumes fall, and the prices Europe pays for Moscow rises.
