Smallpox monkeys, first case in Turin

A case of monkeypox has been identified in a 46-year-old Turin citizen who returned from a trip abroad, where he contracted the virus. His health conditions are good and the traceability and prevention measures stipulated in the national protocols have already been activated by the ASL of the city of Turin. This is the first case found in Piedmont. This was reported by the Piedmont region.

“Since the infection was reported in Italy, Piedmont – confirms the health advisor, Luigi Icardi – has activated all the protocols and prevention measures provided, and this has allowed the Interdisciplinary Center for Sexual Health of Asl Città di Torino to urgently identify this case and intervene immediately.”
