FDA experts, Pfizer ‘Safe and Effective’ for children under 4 years old

(ANSA) – Rome – Food and Drug Administration (FDA) experts have deemed Pfizer’s vaccine against the coronavirus “safe and effective” for children aged 6 months to 4 years. Company data shows 80% coverage. In another document, experts also provided a similar assessment of Moderna’s vaccines for children 6 months to 5 years old, and children 5 to 17 years old. The FDA will meet this week to decide on the emergency authorization: Day one will be devoted to Moderna’s two proposals, and the second to Pfizer’s product. Agree, very likely.

The same experts have in fact noted the high rate of hospitalizations for coronavirus specifically among children aged 6 months to four years: this is the only age group for which no type of vaccination has yet been approved. (Dealing).
