(ANSA) – Rome, June 16 – The risk of eurozone fragmentation, highlighted by rising spreads, is “a serious threat to our price stability missions. To doubt our commitment would be a fatal mistake.”
This is what Christine Lagarde, president of the European Central Bank, told Eurogroup ministers according to EU sources.
Lagarde – the sources said – was in some cases to explain the reason for the emergency meeting that called yesterday to announce measures against the proliferation, in the face of doubts raised by some ministers more in line with hard-line positions.
