The end of vacations at Airbnb. The home-sharing company said it has categorically banned parties in its apartments chartered all over the world. This is an additional tightening after that which arrived about two years ago when the platform imposed a temporary ban on organizing large parties due to the pandemic.
The new policy
The temporary ban has proven effective, the company said in a statement, adding that it will become part of our policy. The move comes after Airbnb banned “open invitation” parties that were advertised on social media in 2019. In 2020, the maximum number of people was imposed at 16 and a temporary ban was imposed on “all parties and eventsStop it now it becomes permanent.
But what are the risks for those who decide to rent a party? Customers who break the rules may suffer consequences such as Account suspension or permanent ban on access to the Platform. In 2021, Airbnb said it suspended more than 6,600 customers for violating a ban on party planning, which in many cases prompted complaints from neighbors. Airbnb also said it has registered since the temporary ban was imposed 44% year-over-year decrease in vacation referral rate. However, the company’s critics note that the decline in reports occurred in conjunction with the relaxation of Covid restrictions on gatherings in bars, restaurants and other hangouts. This could have greatly affected the decrease in the number of private parties.
