Klarna’s 85% valuation collapses in one year, a warning of a Fintech bubble burst

Sweden’s Klarna, a fintech company active in payment services and one of the most popular players in the “buy now, pay later” space, raised its capital just one year ago from Japan’s SoftBank that set it aside for $46 billion. Today, new capital (600 million) will be injected based on a total value of only 6.5 billion. The drop is around 85% and looks a lot like the dot.com bubble bursting at the turn of the century.
