Shooting in a shopping center in Copenhagen, at least three dead – the world

The Danish police announced that the death toll from the shooting that took place yesterday in a shopping center in Copenhagen amounted to three dead and several wounded, including three. Chief Inspector Soren Thomassen told a news conference that the 22-year-old arrested after the incident was known to law enforcement “but marginally”.

The young man, according to witnesses armed with a large rifle, was arrested without violence shortly after police arrived near the large Fields shopping center located between the city center and the Danish capital’s airport. The motives of the suspect, who was described by police as a 22-year-old of “Danish descent”, remains unclear. He is known to the police “but only marginally”, Thomassen said, “not someone we know privately.” The three victims are a man in his forties and two young men whose age has not been specified.
“On social networks, we see written that it would be a racist motive, but I cannot say that at the moment we have something to support” this hypothesis, the head of the investigation identified. Instead, the police confirmed that they were investigating videos posted online showing the suspect pointing guns at the head that would call into question his psychological conditions. The investigators had earlier refused to rule out a terrorist act.
