(ANSA) – Tehran, July 7 – The Iranian Revolutionary Guards arrested several foreign diplomats, including a British man, on charges of “espionage”. This was reported by the Iranian Fars news agency and state television.
“The Revolutionary Guards’ intelligence service has identified and arrested foreign diplomats who are spying in Iran,” Fars wrote, adding that one of them, who is British, was expelled from the country. But state television indicated that the British diplomat was only expelled from the “area” in which they were detained in central Iran.
