Microsoft may have entered into negotiations with NIS America To fetch games published by the Japanese publisher Xbox Series X | S and Xbox Onelike those in the series Disgaya. That’s at least according to the latest advice from Nick Baker, aka Shpeshal_Nick.
On the latest episode of the XboxEra podcast, Baker suggested that Microsoft work with NIS America to bring some of its games, or perhaps certain series, to Green Cross platforms. In doing so, he reminded podcast viewers that he had heard similar rumors about the Persona series as well, which is now in the pipeline on Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One too.
Baker didn’t mention any specific game, but the most popular name is the Disgaea RPG series, with the final chapter, Disgaea 6, arriving on the Nintendo Switch last year, and on PC, PS5 and PS4 last month. NIS America is a subsidiary of Nippon Ichi Software and is responsible for the localization and publication of games in the West, including other third-party Japanese developers, such as Nihon Falcom (The Legend of Heroes, YS), which may share Microsoft’s ambitions.
We’ll see, but for now we suggest you take these rumors with caution. Nick Baker is a well-known industry insider, but not all of his advice has been proven correct in the past.
